How and when to pay is set out under fees in the rules below. For admission questions, send an enquiry.
Rules and regulations
In school every day
Every student carries the school calendar every day. Tearing a page out of the calendar is a serious offence and carries a fine.
Students are admitted to class only in the prescribed uniform and with an identity card signed by a parent.
A student who is regularly late, is not in proper uniform or does not follow the school rules will not be allowed into the school.
Students look after their own books and belongings. Please don’t send money or valuables to school.
Any damage to school property has to be made good. The Principal decides the amount, and that decision is final.
To become confident in spoken English, students speak English at school.
Parents check the school calendar every day for notes from the teacher or the Principal.
Parents can meet the Principal by appointment. Class teachers cannot be met during school hours.
Tiffin is healthy, vegetarian food. Non-vegetarian food is not allowed. Students also bring a water bottle and a napkin.
Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in school. Any found will be taken and not returned.
On birthdays, students come in full uniform. We don’t encourage gifts or sweets for classmates or teachers.
Students who cycle to school do so at their own risk; the school isn’t responsible for damage or theft. Students may not bring two-wheelers or cars.
Requests for a railway concession, bonafide certificate or any other document are made in writing at least one week ahead.
Uniform
Students wear the school uniform, neat and clean, every day unless the school says otherwise. Please buy ready-made uniforms with the school emblem so that shades and patterns match.

Winter: black cardigan. Rainy season: black floaters.
Girls wear a black hairband. Short hair is held with black hairpins; long hair is tied in two plaits or ponytails with black ribbons.
Boys keep their hair short and have it cut regularly. Sikh boys wear a black patka.
Nails are kept trimmed. Nail polish and mehendi are not allowed.
Watches and accessories are not allowed.
Discipline
Students keep up the good name of the school through good manners and conduct, and greet teachers, staff and visitors with respect.
Students arrive on time. The gates close at the set time and latecomers are not admitted to class.
Children can’t be taken home during school hours without the Principal’s permission and a good reason.
Parents drop and collect their children at the school entry gate, and are asked to dress appropriately on campus (no nightwear or half pants).
In corridors, students keep left and move quietly. They don’t visit other classrooms during class hours or free periods.
When the class teacher is away, the class monitor keeps order.
Students don’t visit the Principal’s office during class hours except in an emergency, and don’t enter the staff room.
No student leaves the campus during school hours or recess without the Principal’s permission.
Students leave the classroom promptly after school so it can be cleaned.
No collection of money, for any purpose, is made in school without the Principal’s permission. Gifts to teachers need the Principal’s permission too.
Teachers may not hold private classes or collections for the school’s students without the management’s permission.
Damage to school property by a student is recovered in full, with any penalty that applies. Serious misbehaviour can lead to dismissal.
Admissions and withdrawals
A student who doesn’t report within seven days of the school reopening will have their name struck off the register.
Every new student submits a birth certificate from a government or municipal authority, or a leaving certificate from their previous school, by 30 April. Without it the admission is void.
Fees are paid at the time of admission. Fees once paid are not refunded under any circumstances.
A student who joins or leaves during a term pays the fee for the whole term.
A leaving certificate is issued one month after the application, once all fees due have been paid. The application form is in the school calendar.
Students are accountable to the school for their behaviour on campus. Serious misbehaviour, poor progress, dishonesty, irregular attendance or not following the rules or uniform code can lead to a student’s name being struck off and a leaving certificate being issued.
Leave of absence
Leave is granted only on a written application from a parent or guardian, made in advance, for a genuine reason.
Absence without leave for more than a week means the student’s name is struck off the roll. If re-admission is allowed, the admission fee is paid again.
After a contagious or infectious illness, a student brings a registered doctor’s certificate saying the quarantine period is over.
Fees
School and bus fees cover all 12 months of the academic year, including May, and are paid by the quarter.
Fees for each quarter are paid in advance, by the last working day of the first month. Late payment carries a fine of ₹10 a day, and the Principal can’t be asked to waive it.
Fees are paid at the school office only, never through children, the bus driver or attendant, or anyone else. The school isn’t responsible for money handed to anyone else.
Fees can be paid in cash, by demand draft, NEFT/RTGS, UPI or debit or credit card. Cheques are not accepted.
Students with unpaid fees can’t sit the examinations.
School bus
The bus service is a facility offered as well as we can. The school isn’t responsible for buses running early or late because of traffic or breakdowns.
Buses run only on the set routes and stops; changes can’t be made.
Families who take the bus continue for the whole academic year. Bus fees cover all 12 months, April to March, paid quarterly in advance by the last working day of the first month, with a fine of ₹10 a day for late payment.
Only students whose bus fees are up to date may board.
Abusive language or misbehaviour towards the driver or attendants is dealt with strictly, and repeated complaints can mean losing the bus service. Damage to a bus is paid for in full.
Railway concession
The railway concession form is at the back of the school calendar. Write the child’s age and the journey details on it.
The school fills in its part as the Railway Board requires, so the form is ready two to three days after you hand it in. Please apply well ahead; last-minute requests can’t be accepted.
Long-distance concessions are given only for travel home after the school’s official closing date.
Each form costs ₹20.
Examinations and promotion
All school and bus fees, and any fines, are cleared before the examinations; otherwise the exam slip isn’t issued. No student enters the examination hall without a valid exam slip.
There are no re-examinations for students who are absent, whatever the reason. Absence from a test means losing the marks for that subject.
Breaking examination rules means being sent out of the examination room, and marks are forfeited if it’s found later. A student found copying, or with material to copy from, may be barred from the rest of the examinations at the Principal’s discretion.
Promotion is decided on the results of the semesters, unit tests and internal assessments, and decisions are not reconsidered.
A student with less than 75% attendance stays in the same class, whatever their marks.
For promotion from Grades V, VIII and IX, a student needs at least 33% in each scholastic subject, 36% overall, and at least a C grade in every co-scholastic subject.
A student who fails twice in the same class will be advised to change board or school.
An open house is held after every examination so parents can see their child’s progress.
General
If a child can’t take part in a sport or activity for health reasons, please tell the class teacher in writing.
Basic first aid is given at once if a child is hurt at school or during sport; later medical costs are met by the parents.
The management can add to, change or remove any of these rules, and the changes apply to parents and students.
How parents can help
Check the school calendar and the KPCEDU app every day.
Limit phone, computer and TV time, and encourage reading.
Make sure your child plays outdoors for at least an hour a day.
Send your child to school regularly and on time.
Build habits of independence, healthy eating, hobbies and personal hygiene.
Keep a daily study timetable at home.
Come to the open house to meet the teachers and talk about your child’s progress.
